The New Arab reported a Tripoli diplomatic source as saying that a meeting was held two days ago for representatives of eastern Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar as well as Tobruk parliament and the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj aiming to reach a common ground for a solution to the crisis.

The source added that four members of each party including politicians and military officials attended the meeting that ended as a failure over the high bar demands of Haftar’s loyalists who wanted chief commander position to remain outside discussions, saying they could agree on anything else including naming officials for military ranks.

The source, according to The New Arab, expected that there would be a statement summit up the Thursday meeting, unveiling some consensus over disputed Libya of the political agreement, but the failure of the dissuading got in the way.

A military leader at Haftar’s self-styled army, Mohammed Ebsait, appeared in a video on Friday in Tripoli having a go-around round the capital, exactly near the headquarters of the Presidential Council, besides showing up at the Martyrs Square threatening Tripoli people that Haftar’s forces will soon enter their city.

“Al-Sirraj is an Italian agent who came on an Italian frigate.” He said, adding that Haftar’s forces will enter Tripoli with the help of “good people” who support Haftar in Tripoli.

Local media said Ebsait arrived in Tripoli on Thursday with a delegation on an official mission.

Ebsait is a prominent figure in Haftar’s military leaders. He heads a brigade in Ajdabiya city and he was part of the war on Derna, let alone his contribution in the conflict for oil crescent region last month.
