A cell of spies working for an Arab country’s intelligence agency and the forces led by Khalifa Haftar in east Libya was arrested in Tarhouna, western Libya, on Monday, reported National Security Department in the city.

The department added on Facebook that the cell includes an Egyptian intelligence officer as well as a number of Libyans recruited to do acts to undermine security conditions in Tarhouna and other cities.

“The detainees confessed to the charges and they were possessing documents, explosives and communication devices, which will be shown to the public later.” The department reported.

It added that the arrest of the cell took place last month and the announcement was delayed till now so the interrogations can be conclusive and disallow the rest of cell from fleeing.

“We will show videos for the confessions later.” The department said.
