The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Abdullah Blehiq said the upcoming session on Tuesday will be for questioning the Government of National Unity (GNU), adding in a post on Facebook that the session in Tobruk will cover the topics sent to the GNU by the HoR.
The HoR wanted to question the government last Monday but delayed it because the Prime Minister was on a formal visit to Jordan and the government wanted to receive a copy of the questions to prepare responses, according to HoR spokesman Abdullah Blehiq.
On Friday, the HoR sent a document of questioning headlines for the Government of National Unity's cabinet, including accusations of failure to handle electricity, Coronavirus and cash at the banks' problems, let alone unifying state institutions and negligence of remarks to amend the budget bill.
The questions ask about the reasons behind shutting down borders with Tunisia, saying it has badly affected Libyan-Tunisian relations and wonder about the basis for the Libyan Prime Minister's claim that neighboring countries are exporting terrorism to Libya, in addition to the fact that the government hasn't allocated a budget for Khalifa Haftar's forces and hasn't recognized them as legitimate.
The HoR called for naming a Defense Minister and withdrawal of foreign forces as well as ending "the public presence of Syrian fighters in Tripoli", in addition to explaining why over 3 billion of foreign currency purchase transactions were allocated to the Marriage-and- Construction-Support Fund outside the budget without permission from the Presidential Council.
