The Defence and National Security Committee of House of Representatives has issued a “terrorism” list that included 75 lawmakers, politicians, military officers, clerics, activists and journalists; all are foes of Dignity Operation.
At the top of the list is the President of the High Council of State Abdul-Rahman Al-Sawihili, a step that could be the last nail in the coffin of the Libyan political agreement that was signed in Skhirat in December 2015.
Despite being an advocate of reconciliation with Tobruk parliament, Al-Sawihili was identified in the list as “One of the commanders of Qatar-funded terrorist Libya Dawn Operation.”
The list also included 9 entities, namely: Shura Councils, Libyan Wings (airliner), Trust Insurance, Alnabaa/Tanasuh TVs, Qadwati Charity Organization, Qimam Charity Organization, Sumood Front, Libyan Revolutionary Operation Room, and Libya Shield Forces.
Senior Muslim Brotherhood and Libyan Fighting Group leaders were all included.
The Muslim Brotherhood and its Justice and Construction Party are strong supporters of UN-brokered Libyan political agreement and have representatives in the Presidential Council.
The Defence and National Security Committee sent the list to the self-styled foreign ministry of eastern government of Abdullah Al-Thanni, claiming that all the listed persons and entities have links to Qatar. It urged the ministry to forward the list to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Bahrain to add to their own list of “terrorism.”
