Authorities in eastern Libya have taken a long time to discover that the two Chadians they were dealing with as foreign diplomats turned out to be wolves in sheep's clothing.
Local sources said police forces in Al-Baythan town, 35 south of Ajdabiya city, arrested the two Chadian frauds, who were impersonating their country’s ambassador and Charge d'affaires, in Ajdabiya after receiving instructions from the foreign ministry of the eastern government in Bayda city to arrest them.
According to the sources, the two frauds were staying in Bayda where the eastern government in working and had met in a number of occasions with Foreign Minister Mohammed Dayari using their fake identities.
After working in Bayda for a long time, the two frauds moved to Ajdabiya and set up a fake consulate. At this point, Foreign Minister Mohammed Dayari contacted the Chadian Foreign Ministry to verify their identities, but the Chadian government denied presence of any diplomats in eastern Libya and that the country has only one consulate in Tripoli.
During their fake mission, the two frauds were also dealing with the Chadian community in eastern Libya issuing fake IDs and documents.
Media reports from Ajdabiya claimed that the two Chadians had been working as fake diplomats for three years.
