Libya's national football team lost 0-3 to Tunisia on Friday in Tunis as part of the third round of Group J of the Ivory Coast's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023) qualifiers.

The match was the first for the new coach, Libyan national Hamdi Bataw. The game went entirely as the Tunisians wanted with their full control on the pitch, scoring two goals in the first half and a third in the second half.

Despite Bataw's substitutes and a bit of footballing by the Libyans, the match ended with a 3-0 defeat and the Tunisians topped the group with seven points.

Libya will play Tunisia at Benina  Stadium in Benghazi on March 28. Libya has now three points in third place. Equatorial Guinea is in second with six points and Botswana is the fourth with one point.
