The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) revealed that 489 schools were affected by the violence and conflict in Libya.
Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said that 26 thousand students were forced to change their schools after being closed due to the recent violence in eastern and southwestern Libya, noting that these numbers come within a statistic of 8 million school children in the middle east and north Africa, who are facing challenges in going to school.
UNICEF has supported more than 37,000 students in Libya with educational supplies, particularly in conflict areas.
