The National Council for Liberties and Human Rights, in cooperation with Aswat Media Network, organized a dialogue session to promote freedom of opinion and expression in Libya. The dialogue was attended by representatives from the High Council of State, the Presidential Council, the United Nations Mission in Libya, and a number of human rights activists and civil society activists.
Discussions focused on legal projects, drafts and proposals worked on by civil society organizations, including a draft law on associations prepared by the Libyan Human Rights Associations Alliance, a proposed law regulating the media in Libya prepared by the Libyan Organization for Independent Media, and a draft law on the right to peaceful demonstration prepared by Aswat Network.
