The Embassy of Bangladesh in Libya hosted a reception at the Radisson Blu hotel in Tripoli to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the National Day of Bangladesh. High-ranking officials and dignitaries from various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Labour, Interior, Marine Resources, Oil, Commerce & Trade of Libya, as well as Ambassadors & Heads of Mission, Chargé d'Affaires, members of the diplomatic corps, delegations from various international organizations, business representatives, and expatriate Bangladeshi citizens residing in Tripoli, attended the reception. 

 In his speech, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Libya Major General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Khairul Bashar, highlighted the contribution and supreme sacrifice of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the independence of Bangladesh. 

He mentioned that Bangladesh is making significant progress on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also stated that Bangladesh has already embarked on its journey to become a developed country by 2041. 

The Ambassador highlighted the historical socio-cultural relations between Bangladesh and Libya. On behalf of the Libyan Foreign Ministry, the Chief of Protocol, Taher Hossain Solaiman extended congratulations to the government and people of Bangladesh on behalf of the Libyan government. He acknowledged that Libyan-Bangladeshi relations have a distinctive and unique character. He mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very keen to develop the relations between the two countries towards broader horizons, for the benefit of our two friendly peoples.
