The Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum has concluded its work in Libya. 28 African and European countries, participated in the forum by their heads of government, diplomatic representatives, or ambassadors to Libya.

 Representatives of international organizations concerned with the issue of irregular migration also took part in the forum. 

The forum, is an initiative of the Libyan Government of National Unity to enhance dialogue, between the concerned European and African countries, on managing irregular migration across the Mediterranean and defining common policies in this regard. 

It also discussed common challenges of the migration file and developing practical solutions that contribute to reducing illegal migration across the Mediterranean and enhancing cooperation between African and European countries to achieve greater stability in the region. 

A number of heads of delegations stressed, in their interventions, the need to finding practical solutions to the problem of illegal immigration through investment in source and transit countries, while interventions called for implementing the voluntary repatriation of immigrants to their countries through bilateral cooperation between countries.
