The Attorney General has ordered the arrest of the Director of Health Services in Mizda on charges of forgery and embezzlement of public funds.
In a statement Friday, the Attorney General's office said the official collaborated with a delegate of an executing agency to falsify the data of a minutes document to award contracts for supplying medical equipment.
The falsified data was then used to obtain a government order assigning this agency the task of supplying equipment at a cost of four million dinars.
Furthermore, the official conspired with the store officials of the health services management to create counterfeit official documents indicating the receipt of equipment, which was contrary to the truth.
As per the statement, this resulted in damage to the contracting entity due to the disbursement of funds for the contracted items despite the absence of their actual receipt from the relevant authority.
