The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibha, said his government is working to launch the construction of an “Exhibitions City” to be a trade landmark that develops Libya and adds beauty to the capital’s scenery.
This announcement came during a speech by Dbeibah on Sunday at the opening of Tripoli International Fair’s 48th edition that was organized by Trade and Economy Ministry under the supervision of General Exhibitions Authority.
110 local Libyan companies and foreign businesses from six countries, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria, Indonesia, Italy, and Romania, specializing in food industries, building materials, import and export, construction and factory equipment participated in the Tripoli International Fair.
The Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Huweij, said in his speech at the opening of the Tripoli International Fair that the ministry had started building a plan to support the national economy and move from a rentier economy to a diversified one based on industrial and agricultural activities.
Al-Huweij said that a site had been allocated for the building of the "Exhibitions City” with a total area of 47.5 hectares in the Al-Sawani district, south of the capital, in accordance with international standards, and in a way that would contribute to the establishment of specialized and diversified activities to support the national economy, calling on business owners and investors to contribute to the implementation of the city, and encourage investment in all regions.
