Zallaf Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company announced the successful completion of the first phase of the South Oil Refinery project, adding that the work of the second and final phase has already begun.
The company explained that it was currently negotiating the implementation and issuance of purchase orders for the long-term equipment necessary for the actual start of production.
Zallaf categorically denied the rumors circulating on social media about the project’s termination, stressing that this information was completely false and that the project was proceeding according to the time plan.
The company called on media and social media pages to be credible and seek accuracy and clarity in reporting information, noting that it periodically publishes the ongoing developments of this project.
The south oil refinery project is considered one of the most important strategic projects in Libya, as it will contribute to alleviating the fuel shortage crisis that the Fezzan region is suffering from. It will help the south that is known for its oil wealth but suffers from a shortage of basic services.
