The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Saturday the registration of 28 deaths and 4,061 new infections with the Coronavirus, in a highest daily toll since the outbreak of the epidemic. 

NCDC indicated that the percentage of infections reached about 41%, as the number of samples that were analyzed amounted to 9,927 samples, 5,866  of which showed a negative result.

The center confirmed in its statement that the number of vaccinated people reached about 480,000 across the country.

The new infections were distributed to 49 cities, as Tripoli recorded the highest number with 1540 infections, followed by the city of Misrata with 600 infections.

With this statistic, the total number of Coronavirus infections in Libya rises to more than 221,000, nearly 35,000 of which are still active, while the total number of people who have died from the virus has reached 3,281 deaths.
