A group of 85 vulnerable asylum-seekers were flown safely from Tripoli's Mitiga Airport to Italy, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The group are from a mix of nationalities, including people who had recently been released from detention centres.

UNHCR thanked Italy for its support in the evacuation process and said it relies on the international community to provide more places, as well as safe and legal pathways out of Libya.
