Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, has discussed with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, preparations for holding the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum.

Al-Lafi confirmed that the forum, scheduled to be held in the capital, Tripoli, next July, will include African and European countries concerned with illegal migration movement, noting that the forum confirm Libya’s commitment to the security of migrants and their right to voluntary return to their country.

For his part, Orlando expressed the European party's desire to attend the forum, welcoming the holding of the event at a time when Libya is witnessing a tangible development in the Government of National Unity's handling of the illegal migration issue.
