Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah held a meeting with the preparatory committee for the international conference on combating illegal immigration and border security, which is scheduled to be held in Tripoli on July 17 under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, Dbeibah was briefed on the executive procedures of the conference’s preparatory committee, where the head of the committee presented a briefing on international coordination with the ministries of interior and foreign affairs in the European Union and exporting countries, in addition to issuing the necessary invitations.

The head of the preparatory committee stressed the continued cooperation with the European Union in reaching the objectives assigned to the conference. Dbeibah stressed, during the meeting, the necessity of coordination with all state institutions and Libyan ambassadors to the countries targeted for participation, with the aim of enhancing participation and producing results that serve Libya’s interest in this file.

Hakomitna media platform said the Government of National Unity was looking forward to obtaining the support of European and African countries and the United Nations for the conference scheduled to be held on July 17, with the participation of countries related to the issue of immigration and border security.
