The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, has confirmed that the HCS predicted in advance this stalemate in the electoral process path.

This came during his meeting with the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, Stephanie Williams, on Tuesday in Tripoli.

“The reason for this are the defective laws issued by the House of Representatives, the High National Elections Commission that tried to implement them, and the Supreme Judicial Council, which issued regulations in violation of the legislation organization for its work”, Al-Mishri said, adding “reaching a consensus on electoral laws and constitutional basis are the only way for all of this.
