Minister of Oil and Gas Mohamed Aoun on Monday chaired the first meeting of the committee tasked by the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) to select the African Energy Bank HQ.
Aoun participated in the meeting via video conference as Chairman of the Committee to Select a Country from among the African states that have expressed their willingness to host the African Energy Bank HQ.
According to the Ministry of Oil and Gas, the session featured members of the committee and the organization's Secretary General.
The APPO is seeking to establish the Energy Bank to address the challenges facing African countries in extracting oil resources, use them to transition to the production of renewable energy, support oil industry projects, and promote the overall development of member African countries.
