The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity announced on Saturday, the discovery of an archaeological site dating back to the Roman era in the Qarquza region in the municipality of Mamoura.
The Tourism Police and Antiquities Protection Authority received a report from a citizen who found an archaeological site during digging a piece of land he owns in the municipality of Al-Mamoura, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
All legal measures were taken by assigning members of the tourist police and antiquities protection to protect the site from tampering and theft.
