The Libyan Embassy in Bulgaria has confirmed the restart of maintenance activities on a Libyan aircraft after an eight-year hiatus.

The Airbus 319, stationed at Sofia Airport, had been grounded for over eight years before maintenance operations resumed.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, the embassy highlighted that the decision came after direct coordination and follow-up between the Administrative Control Authority, the Libyan Embassy in Bulgaria, and Afriqiyah Airways.

According to the statement, the aircraft is anticipated to return to Libya and rejoin the company's fleet by August of this year.
