The Joint Operations Force has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of liquid fuel, which was hidden in containers intended for export at the Free Zone Port in Misrata.
The smuggled fuel was seized during a routine inspection carried out in cooperation with the customs authority at the Misrata Free Zone, the Joint Operations Force said.
A total of 14 containers loaded with 20,000 liters of diesel fuel, each, were seized during the operation, the authority explained, noting that the shipment was registered as a cargo of used oil.
