The Director of the Search for the Remains Department of the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons, Lutfi Tawfiq, said that the authority had been promised by the competent authorities in the country a supply of operational materials related to the task of identification of human remains through DNA.

Tawfiq confirmed in a press statement that its teams took in excess of 350 samples from families of missing persons, the majority of whom are from Tarhuna, to compare with remains previously found in mass graves, having received the appropriate testing materials.

He also pointed out that the teams were ready to take samples from the bodies, which were found in various areas in Tarhuna and south of Tripoli.
