The cadaver recovery team retrieved three bodies from two locations in Tarhuna city on Tuesday, the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons said.

The process took place in cooperation with the Deterrence Agency for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime, upon permission from the Public Prosecutor, the authority said in a Facebook statement.

The teams of the Department of Examination of the Remains excavated two bodies from a spot on Salem bin Ali road, and another body from Al-Saqiya road.

The authority noted that the bodies will be referred to forensic medicine to disclose the cause of death.

A specialized team will take samples from the recovered bodies and refer them to the laboratory department to undergo DNA tests.

The developments bring the total number of exhumed bodies from mass and individual graves in Tarhuna to 333 unidentified bodies, according to the authority for missing persons.
