The UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily met Saturday with a delegation from the 6 + 6 committee concerned with finalizing electoral laws.
The meeting was held at UNSMIL headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the technical team assigned by the mission.
In a statement, UNSMIL explained that Bathily renewed the mission's offer to provide all possible support to enable the committee accomplish its tasks as soon as possible.
Bathily stressed the importance of the committee's role and responsibilities in issuing the necessary laws for holding comprehensive elections in Libya.
The two sides also discussed issues related to the finalization of elections’ legislative framework.
