The BBC News Russian confirmed Monday the killing of the first Russian soldier in Libya identified to be "Gleb Mostovoy" on February 6.

According to the BBC "Mostovoy" was a commissioned officer in the Russian army and not a mercenary."

The website pointed out that the police did not allow reporters to attend the memorial service of Mostovoy, despite their approval of the journalists' papers.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan army forces disclosed in recent statements that they had targeted Russian mercenary posts southern Tripoli, confirming that several of them had been killed.
