Brega Oil Company has successfully repaired critical corrosion in two key pipelines—10-inch and 16-inch—linking Zawiya to Tripoli, preventing a potential disruption in oil flow.
The company reported that corrosion in the 16-inch pipeline had reached 52%, raising concerns over production continuity. Inspections revealed significant internal damage, with pipe thickness decreasing from 6.35mm to just 2.7mm. Engineers also identified 117 additional corrosion points along a five-meter section.
Brega deployed advanced repair techniques and high-quality materials to restore the pipeline, completing the work without halting operations.
The company emphasized that this effort underscores its commitment to maintaining infrastructure integrity and ensuring stable energy supply.
