Sources from Sabha in southern Libya said calm descended on the city Wednesday after security tensions over the last couple of days due to the killing of a man by fighters from pro-Haftar Tariq bin Ziyad brigade.

Sabha locals blocked several roads and set fire to tires in protest of the killing of a man by gunshots by Tariq bin Ziyad brigade fighters.

Spokesman for Sabha elders Hassan Al-Ragig said four fighters from Tariq bin Ziyad brigade were released after being detained by locals on the condition they would be sent to court for legal action as they are suspected to have killed the man.

"It's quiet now. Some locals from Al-Manshiya burnt a vehicle for the brigade as a protest to the killing." He added.
