Ajilat (about 90 kilometers west of Tripoli) is witnessing an uneasy calm after violent clashes that took place in the city on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The clashes stopped after a force affiliated with the Western Coast Military Zone entered the city.

‎Footage circulated on social media on Saturday evening showed the clashes continuing in the city of Ajilat, amidst a scarcity of information about the nature of what is happening in the area.

‎Sources from the area reported the death of two people, the injury of six others, and the evacuation of several families due to the intermittent clashes.

‎The media office of the Red Crescent, Ajilat branch, called on people to stay away from windows, doors, and places near the clashes, and to avoid going out except in cases of extreme necessity after prior coordination.

‎The education supervisor in the municipality of Al-Jadida, Issam Mowloud Al-Fahri, announced the temporary suspension of studies within the administrative borders of the municipality in order to ensure the safety of students and pupils in anticipation of renewed clashes. These developments come in conjunction with the security operation launched by the Western Coast Military Zone in the areas west of Tripoli, which began in the city of Al-Zawiya as a first phase.
