The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has announced the unification of the Research and Statistics Departments and the Financial Information Unit, after completing the process of unifying the Banking and Monetary Control Departments.

This came during the 3rd meeting of the committee formed to complete the procedures for unifying the bank, headed by the Governor of the Bank, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir.

The meeting, which was held at the CBL headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the directors of the relevant departments from Tripoli and Benghazi, approved the committee’s work roadmap for the year 2024.

In August 2023, the CBL Governor, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and his deputy, Marai Al-Barassi, announced the return of the bank to a unified sovereign institution, supporting the efforts to address the effects of the division in the bank.
