The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has decided to close 20 private facilities of higher education, due to their inability to meet the required standards of quality.

The ministry stated on its official Facebook page that the decision was based on a final report made by a specialized committee, formed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, regarding the examination and evaluation of private universities and colleges and his decision to form sub-committees to examine and evaluate private facilities on a geographical basis.

The ministry called on the registered 2,249 male and female students previously studying at the now-closed facilities, to contact the committee which was specifically formed for the purpose of re-assigning the students to new study programs.
