The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, received a high-level delegation from the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the Russian ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aghanin.
According to a statement posted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its Facebook page, Al-Baour discussed with the Russian delegation ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries across various fields, in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances the existing cooperation between Tripoli and Moscow.
The Ministry added that both sides also discussed prospects for developing the partnership to support stability and development in Libya. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination and political consultation, and the exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest, in a way that supports international peace and security.
