The Criminal Court has convicted the former Charge d’Affaires of the Libyan Mission to the Czech Republic and officials in charge of the mission's finances between 2011 and 2022 for serious financial misconduct.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed that a report from the Audit Bureau stated that the defendants were involved in illegal activities that led to significant financial losses and misuse of their authority.
The Court found the defendants guilty of two counts of job authority abuse and negligence in preserving and maintaining money.
As a result, they have been sentenced to one year in prison with hard labor and a fine of 5,000 dinars.
