The General Electricity Company in Libya (GECOL) announced on Tuesday the completion of maintenance work on the damaged 400 K.V cable, which is connected to the Gulf Steam Power Plant in Sirte.
This comes after overcoming all difficulties faced by the engineers. The company's Information Office said in a statement that according to supervisors, the cable will be tested for the next two days, followed by operational steps on the first turbine at the Gulf Steam Power Plant, which should add another 350 megawatts to the electrical grid.
