The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has stated that the Electrical Works Company is not administratively and financially affiliated with the GECOL and is considered one of the companies supplying materials and equipment involved in developing the public grid.
The GECOL remarks came after the fire that broke out last Sunday in the stores of the Electrical Works Company, which is affiliated with the holding company.
The materials and equipment stored in the Electrical Works Company’s warehouses were supplied to the GECOL according to contracts dating back to 2010 and were not received by the GECOL.
