The head of Information Office of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Mohamed Takouri confirmed that power supply had been restored to most areas of Nafusa Mountain, after the interruption that occurred in the early morning of Sunday, due to the closure of Shakshuk Power Station by protesters.

Takouri clarified that the company communicated with the protesters in order to reach a solution and reopen the station, indicating that the station was closed by the family of employee, Khalifa Al-Akrout who died of his wounds after being beaten up by an outlawed group during work.

The family demanded that those involved in his killing to be brought to justice.

Al-Akrout was subjected to severe beating while on duty for cutting a feeding line for maintenance propose, he later died of his injuries in hospital.
