Ghadames Municipal Council has held a debate on the Libya Local Governance and Civil Society (LGCS) Program, locally known as “Taqarib”.

Taqarib is part of USAID’s funded programs that aim to enhance the unity of the state and its institutional capacity by providing psychological, technical, and legal support to municipalities, in order to enable them to provide the best services within their areas and implement decentralization policies.

Another goal is to encourage citizens to participate in the local dialogue to identify the needs and priorities of their areas and develop a high level of awareness among the community, according to the organizers

Taqarib Project targets 40 Libyan municipalities across Libya.
