A member of the Libyan Constitution Drafting Assembly, Daw Al-Mansouri, said that the briefing of the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, to the Security Council was "disappointing."

On his Facebook page, Mansouri clarified that the briefing draws on "impressionist views and politicians who are not in their interest to complete the foundation track,” pointing out that “the outputs of the briefing will further lead to an endless transitional stage.”

"Elections without a constitution are nothing more than a re-manufacture of a dictator in a democratic dress," Mansouri remarked, adding that such steps amount to a mockery to the will of the Libyan people who have the inherent right to self-determination through a referendum on the draft constitution.
