The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Saturday that it recorded 679,897 illegal immigrants in Libya last May.

"In May 2018, IOM Libya identified 679,897 migrants in Libya from 42 nationalities, 10% of them are women while 8 per cent are minors," IOM said in its Libya's Migrant Report.

It added the top five nationalities were Nigerian, Egyptian, Chadian, Sudanese and Ghanaian.

“The IOM estimates that there are between 700,000 and 1 million migrants across the country.," it added.
