sabratha

The Italian Embassy in Libya has announced that Italian archaeological missions will visit archaeological sites in the city of Sabratha within the framework of supporting archaeological cooperation between Libya and Italy.

Missions from the Universities of Macerata and Palermo inspected the archaeological cemetery of Sidra El-Bleik, which dates back to the fourth century, discovered by Italian professor Antonino De Vita in 1972.

Sabratha is full of archaeological and historical sites dating back to the era of the Phoenicians and Greeks, as well as the Romans and Byzantines after them.
