Italian flight tracker, Itamilradar, said it had recorded for the first time aircraft of the Italian Air Force: a Dassault Falcon 900EX (reg. MM62245) flying over central Libya toward the south.
The tracker said the use of routes crossing Libya is not a common practice, and in the past, it had only monitored some French military aircraft heading to Central Africa using this route when the crisis with Algeria prevented overflight of the country.
"It is the first time we have seen Italian aircraft follow this route, and it is likely that a greater openness to Libyan routes that is also a result of agreements between Italy and Libya.” It added.
