The Libyan Crimes Watch (LCW) has confirmed in its annual report for the year 2022, the registration of 561 violations in various crimes against civilians.
The violations included more than 230 attacks against migrants in the Mediterranean and inside Libya, 62 cases of kidnapping, illegal detention and arbitrary detention of Libyan activists and journalists, and 42 victims who were extrajudicially killed.
The LCW monitored attacks against 40 peaceful demonstrators, five cases of torture, in addition to war crimes that led to the death of 34 civilians due to landmines or indiscriminate attacks, and the discovery of 91 bodies in mass graves during the past year.
It also called for the immediate opening of transparent and fair investigations into all crimes, demanding the reveal of fate of all victims who were kidnapped, and the immediate release of those arbitrarily detained.
