The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity offered its condolences to the Republic of South Korea over the victims of the forest fires that broke out in the country.
The Ministry said in a statement on Friday evening, "We express our condolences and sympathy to the friendly Republic of Korea for the victims of the forest fires that broke out in southeastern Korea, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries. The Ministry affirmed its full solidarity with the Korean people in this painful incident, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured."
The South Korean authorities announced last Wednesday the deaths of 18 people in a series of forest fires that caused unprecedented damage.
