The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the two-month truce reached by warring parties in Yemen, starting from the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the ministry expressed its hope that this step would contribute to reaching a permanent agreement that guarantees a comprehensive settlement of the crisis in Yemen, stressing Libya's support for all efforts and initiatives that contribute to finding a political solution, especially the current consultations hosted by Saudi Arabia.

It also stressed the importance of supporting the Gulf initiatives, the executive mechanisms and the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, in order to achieve permanent reconciliation to preserve Yemen's unity and independence and reach stability and peace for the Yemeni people and the entire region.
