A Libyan delegation, headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Issa, discussed joint cooperation with Mali in the security file, especially the field of fighting terrorism.

This discussion came on the sidelines of the Libyan participation in the meeting of the Alliance of African States, where Issa met with the President of Mali, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Mali, as the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, according to a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, Issa met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mali at the residence of the Libyan delegation in the Malian capital and the latter stressed the importance of strengthening political relations between the two countries. Issa also referred to the role of Mali in the African affairs, especially the Sahel region.

According to the statement, Issa expressed his thanks for Mali’s cooperation with Libya on regional issues, including the great cooperation on the issue of the headquarters of the Community of Sahel–Saharan States.
