The Public Prosecutor's Office has announced the arrest of 50 Chinese nationals involved in an illegal cryptocurrency mining operation inside an abandoned iron factory in the city of Zliten.
“The perpetrators use high-energy devices that harness a large amount of material to mine cryptocurrencies, and these acts violate the law”. the Office said, adding that investigating alleged other mining sites in Tripoli and Misrata.
The Office of the Public Prosecutor had announced that a judicial inspection had been conducted at a site in Misrata, in which 10 Chinese nationals had been caught with computers used to conduct mining calculations.
