Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity expressed its deep sorrow and grief over the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in the city of Aktau in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.

The Ministry said in a statement: “While Libya expresses its deep solidarity with the friendly Republic of Azerbaijan: government and people, in this painful plight, it extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, praying to Allah Almighty to grant the injured a speedy recovery.”

Last Wednesday, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan, carrying 67 people, including crew members, 27 of whom survived, as initial information indicated that the emergency landing was caused by a collision with a flock of birds.
