The Foreign Ministry of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU) condemned Sunday the “terrorist attack” on a water-lifting station in east of Suez Canal in Egypt.

The Foreign Ministry said it stands with Egypt against any threats of security and stability and supports it in efforts to fight such dangerous terrorist attacks.

A statement issued by the Egyptian army on Saturday said that a group of "takfiri attackers assaulted the water-lifting station east of the Suez Canal, while checkpoint personnel clashed with them, resulting in the killing of an officer and ten soldiers, and the injury of five people. It said the terrorists were still at large as army forces besieged them in one of the isolated areas in the Sinai Peninsula.
