The Permanent Representative of Libya to the Arab League, Abdulmutallab Thabet, has said that the role of the Arab League in supporting the political process in Libya is “important”, hailing it for following up on the Libyan situations.

In his meeting with the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, Abdul Rahman bin Saeed, Thabet, who took office in the middle of this month, called the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and his Arab counterparts to continue supporting Libya through in-depth, continuous meetings to ensure holding the parliamentary and presidential elections in the country.

Both sides also reviewed the two countries’ relations in addition to other regional and international issues of common concern.
