The Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, arrived in Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital, to discuss with the Minister of Defense of Mauritania, Hanena Ould Sidi, security coordination between both countries in the field of combating terrorism and organized crime.

The talks also dealt with matters of cooperation and mechanisms to strengthen them.

Al-Haddad also visited the headquarters of G5 Sahel with the aim of opening up communication channels with the group of five Sahil countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger.
